The Royal's regular season began 3 months ago with a comeback victory over Bryan Station in the Mr. Basketball Classic and ended friday night against the Defenders in a well-attended game at The Fieldhouse featuring two of the state's best teams.
Bryan Station was in command for most of the game, held off a second half comeback attempt, and avenged the season opening loss to the Royals by defeating Mason County 65-54.
Darius Miller led the Royals in scoring with a game-high 28 points. Russ Middleton had 9 points and Ethan King added 8.
The Royals finish with an excellent season record of 25 - 4 and will face St. Patrick in the District Tournament Opener on Tuesday at Bracken County High School in Brooksville at 8 pm.
